A bargain-hunting renovator was in the right place at the right time when she bought her kitchen tiles for £2 which is £16 cheaper than the regular price.
And after sharing the post on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, another shopper revealed they had bought tiles from the same place for only 20p a pack.
B&Q, the home DIY store had a sale on wall tiles that meant shoppers could complete their bathrooms on a budget and more than one person said that with the savings they made, they were able to afford a renovation bonus.
A huge part of a budget bathroom renovation is DIY but these shoppers went for the stress free option and used the money they saved to pay a professional to lay the tiles for them.
More than 300 people have commented on the original post that said: “B&Q wall tiles (these are black brick style) down from £18 per pack to £2. Lots of other styles down to £2 too.
“That’s my bathroom done on a budget! The amount I’ve saved, I can pay someone to do it”
One commenter jumped on the opportunity and said: “We’re down to £3 in my local so got a couple of boxes myself lol”
Waiting for mass reductions in B&Q and then using the savings to pay for a handyman is a hack also used by this family who said: “This is exactly what myself and my mum did, we found the tiles we liked and a man in B&Q told us if we come back at opening time the following day they’d be 18p a pack, we got all the tiles for our kitchen for under £1 and then paid someone £80 to do it!
The post got others thinking about how they might make some changes in their bathrooms with some making arrangements to have a look in B&Q and others suggesting their friends take note of the huge savings.
