STOCKTON – Some chronically homeless people of Stockton and San Joaquin County soon will have a put to call house.

Town Centre Studios, a hotel in central Stockton that has been renovated into 40 studio units, will open its doorways Monday. The work is to aid create desperately necessary housing by leveraging state assets largely from Venture Homekey and neighborhood expertise from the Central Valley Low Income Housing Corp. and Stocktonians Getting Action to Neutralize Medication to take vulnerable individuals out of shelters and off the streets and into long-lasting residences.

“We know that housing and aid are the keys to beating homelessness,” explained Jon Mendelson, director of CVLIHC. “This venture provides manufacturer-new capacity to get folks into housing, and it will continue to keep folks housed for several years to come.”
